The weird and wonderful underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants has been lighting up television screens since 1999 and delighting children and adults alike. Created by marine science educator and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon, the wacky series follows the adventures of the titular pineapple-dwelling sea sponge and his pet snail Gary in the aquatic city of Bikini Bottom. "Gary's Song" was featured in season four, episode four ("Have You Seen This Snail?") of SpongeBob SquarePants (commonly known simply as SpongeBob) and finds SpongeBob pleading for his pal's return after his neglect caused him to run away. "Gary, won't you come home?" he begs in the sorrowful song, which was produced by Emily Wittmann and Stephen Hillenburg. Created in 2004, "Gary's Song" was penned and performed by the Tony Award-winning singer-songwriter born Mark Lamar Stewart and known professionally as Stew.
