Easy listening luminary Paul Anka found fame as a teen idol in the late 1950s and 1960s—carving out hits like "Puppy Love" and "Dance on Little Girl" that perfectly encapsulated the craze for pop worship—and most famously penned the lyrics to Frank Sinatra classic "My Way," (originally as French song "Comme d'habitude") before his career was temporarily eclipsed by the British Invasion. The Ottawa-born Canadian-American crooner enjoyed another round of success in the early 1970s after signing to Buddah Records, and "Do I Love You (Yes in Every Way)" represents one of the fruits of his labour. The song, which was co-written and recorded by Paul Anka for his 1972 self-titled LP and adapted from a French-language tune, "Plus rien qu'une adresse en commun," was released as a taste of the LP in 1971, with the single making to number 14 on the easy listening singles charts in both the US and Canada, as well as number 16 on the Canadian pop chart.
